AHRO’S ACHIEVEMENTS

1. Human Rights protection and documentation.
2. Human Rights Awareness Program on a community basis.
3. Publication of Bashar Monthly Human Rights Newsletter.
4. Development of materials on Good Governance, Human Rights capacity building, Women Rights, Legal Rights and HIV
5. Provision of free legal aid .
6. Survey of prisoners in Afghanistan and Pakistan jails, compilation and analysis of data.
7. Survey of war victims' compilation and analysis of data.
8. Survey of war injured in Pakistani hospitals, compilation and analysis of data.
9. Provision of material and financial support including food, blood, medicine, clothes and transportation etc. for war injured and newly arrived refugees in Pakistan.
10. Compilation of various statistics to improve the quality of Human Rights activities.
11. Legal assistance to release Afghan prisoners from various Pakistani jails, mostly women and children.
12. Numerous press releases on Human Rights violations; electronic and printed media
13. Reporting of Human Rights violations to concerned organizations.
14. Established Main Office and five branch offices in Afghanistan, one in Pakistan.
15. Special education for the disabled.
16. Human Rights monitoring and investigation.
17. Gathering information to investigate the plight of those orphans and other Afghan children who were sent to the former Soviet Union and are scattered in different Republics; to be helped to return and be rehabilitated and repatriated.
18. Improve co-operation and exchange of information with similar organizations around the world.
19. Helping war affected children and youth.
20. Enhancement of Human Rights education and training through programs in the public education system of Afghanistan.
21. Organizing women’s Human Rights groups (Committees).
22. Successfully implemented a Women’s Rights Education Program in different parts of Afghanistan.
23. Published a list of 5,000 victims who are buried in a mass grave in the desert to assist their families in identifying the fate of their missing relatives.
24. Provision of Human Rights capacity building training to Civil Society Organizations and NGOs’ Staff.
25. Provision of trainings on Good Governance to Provincial Assembly member and Senior Provincial Government Staff.
26. Conducting workshops on Human Rights
27. Representing and advocating for the promotion and protection of Afghans’ Human Rights in international conferences/workshops/seminars.
